Nazera or Hifz: Which Online Quran Course for Your Child
Choose Nazera if your child is still learning to read the Quran from the text, and Hifz if your child already reads fluently and the family wants memorisation. Nazera builds correct reading, Hifz builds memory on top of it. At Learn Al Quran Online BD both cost 5,000 BDT a month (about 41 USD), with live 1-to-1 classes and a free trial class.
What is the difference between Nazera and Hifz?
Nazera means reading the Quran by looking at the Arabic text. The child learns to read each word correctly, with the right sounds and rhythm. Hifz means memorising the Quran by heart, then revising it so it stays.

Which course should my child start with?
Use these simple questions.
- Does your child know the Arabic letters and sounds? If not, start with Noorani Qaida.
- Can your child read the Quran slowly but correctly? Continue with Nazera until the reading is smooth.
- Does your child read smoothly and want to memorise? Hifz is the next step.
- Do you want correct pronunciation rules? Add Tajweed.
Most teachers advise that a child should read the Quran well before starting Hifz, because memorising from a weak reading can lock in mistakes. A teacher can check your child's level in the free trial, so you do not need to guess.
Does my child's age matter?
Age is a guide, not a rule. Some young children read fast and are ready for Hifz, and some older children need more time on Nazera. The better question is how fluent the reading is and how much time the family can give at home.
Can my child do Nazera and Hifz at the same time?
For most children it is better to finish one step before the next. A child who is still building reading skills usually benefits from focusing on Nazera first. If you have a particular plan, discuss it with the teacher in the free trial, and the plan can be adjusted to your child.
What do parents abroad need to think about?
Children in the UK, USA, Canada, Australia and Europe have school homework and a busy week. Hifz needs steady daily time, including revision. Nazera is easier to fit around school.
The class time is set in your own time zone. For example, Bangladesh is 6 hours ahead of the UK in winter, and our teachers adjust the Dhaka time for you. Read more in our UK guide.
How does the class work?
Classes are live, 1-to-1, on Google Meet. They last 1 hour, and you can choose 3, 4 or 5 days a week. We have male and female teachers. Every class is monitored, teachers send a daily report, guardians receive a monthly progress report, and teachers meet weekly to discuss student feedback.
The fee is the same for every course and for 3, 4 or 5 days a week. For a comparison with other academies, see our pricing guide for diaspora parents.
How do I decide with the free trial?
- Book the free trial class. It lasts up to 1 hour.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is Nazera a must before Hifz?
It is strongly recommended. A child who reads the Quran correctly finds memorising much easier and safer. The teacher will confirm in the trial.
Is Hifz harder than Nazera?
Hifz asks for more daily effort and regular revision. Nazera is lighter, but both need steady practice.
Does the fee change between Nazera and Hifz?
No. Every course is 5,000 BDT a month (about 41 USD), for 3, 4 or 5 days a week.
Can we change course later?
Yes. Many families begin with Nazera, and move to Hifz when the child is ready. Talk to the teacher about the right time.
Can parents also learn?
Yes. We have an adult Quran course for parents.
