How Long Does It Take to Learn to Read the Quran?
It depends on the learner's age, starting level and how often they practise, so no honest teacher can promise one fixed time. Learning goes in three steps: Arabic letters, then reading the Quran, then Tajweed. At Learn Al Quran Online BD, classes are 1-to-1 on Google Meet, 3, 4 or 5 days a week, 1 hour each, for 5,000 BDT a month. A teacher checks your level in a free trial class.
Every parent and every adult beginner asks this question first. We understand why: you want to plan your time and your money. So here is a clear picture of the steps, what changes the speed, and how to help yourself or your child move forward.

What decides how fast you learn?
Five things matter most:
- Age. Young children learn sounds quickly but need short, patient lessons. Adults often learn the rules faster but have less free time.
- Starting level. A child who already knows the letters starts at a different point from a complete beginner.
- Practice at home. Ten minutes of daily reading helps more than one long session a week.
- How often the class is held. We offer 3, 4 or 5 days a week. More days usually means steadier progress.
- The teacher match. A child who feels comfortable with the teacher speaks up and reads aloud more.
Why can't a teacher promise an exact time?
Because two children of the same age can learn at very different speeds. Be careful with any academy that guarantees you will finish in a fixed number of weeks. A better sign is a teacher who first listens to your child read, then tells you honestly where they are and what the next step is.
How can you speed up Quran reading at home?
- Read a little every day. Even 10 minutes is enough to keep sounds fresh.
- Listen before you read. Play the same short passage a few times, then read it.
- Revise what was taught that day. Right after class is the best time.
- Be patient with mistakes. A teacher corrects them in class. Corrections are how reading becomes right.
- Sit with your child sometimes. Even if you cannot read Arabic yourself, your attention matters.
Is it different for adults?
Yes, in a good way and a hard way. Adults understand rules quickly, but they often feel shy about starting from the letters. There is nothing to be ashamed of. Many parents learn beside their children. See Online Quran Classes for Adults, where learning starts at any level.
How do we find your starting point?
In the free trial class, which lasts up to 1 hour, the teacher listens to the learner read, finds the right level and suggests a course. You and your child can see how a class works before you decide anything. Our teachers are male and female, and classes are mostly in Bangla, with English-speaking teachers available.
What does it cost?
The fee is 5,000 BDT a month, about 41 USD, for any course and for 3, 4 or 5 days a week. Each class is 1 hour. Read our pricing guide for diaspora parents for a comparison.
