What You Need for Online Quran Classes: Bangladeshi Guide
To join online Quran classes, you need a device with a camera and microphone, a steady internet connection, a quiet place and a free Google Meet link, and nothing else. At Learn Al Quran Online BD, classes are live and 1-to-1 on Google Meet, last 1 hour, and run 3, 4 or 5 days a week. The fee is 5,000 BDT a month, and the first class is a free trial of up to 1 hour.
Many Bangladeshi parents worry that online learning needs special software or an expensive computer. It does not. If your family can join a video call with relatives in Bangladesh, you can join a Quran class. This guide lists exactly what to prepare so your first class goes smoothly.
What device do you need for an online Quran class?
|
Device |
Works? |
Good to know |
|---|---|---|
|
Laptop or computer |
Yes, the best choice |
A bigger screen makes it easier to see the teacher and the text |
|
Tablet |
Yes |
Good for children. Use a stand so it does not move |
|
Smartphone |
Yes, if nothing else is available |
The screen is small, so hold it steady in a stand |
If you have more than one device, a laptop or tablet is better for children because they can see the page clearly.
What internet speed do you need?
A normal home Wi-Fi connection that can carry a video call is enough. For a smooth class:
- Sit close to the router, or use a cable if you can.
- Close other apps and downloads during class.
- Test your connection a few minutes before the class.
- Keep mobile data ready as a backup in case the Wi-Fi drops.
What else should you have ready?
- Camera and microphone, built in or separate.
- Headphones, if the room is noisy. They also help your child hear the teacher clearly.
- The Quran or Qaida, if your child already has one. You can also see our books page.
- A notebook and pen, for the teacher's notes.
- Water and a calm mind. Children learn better when they are comfortable.
How do you join a class on Google Meet?
- We send you the class link.
- Click the link at class time.
- Allow the camera and microphone when your browser or app asks.
- Say salam to the teacher and begin.
Google Meet is free, and you do not need to pay for any software. If you have never used it, tell us in the free trial and we will help you.
What kind of room and setting is best?
- A quiet spot with the door closed, if possible.
- Good light on the face, not behind the child.
- A shared or open area of the home, which is also helpful for younger children.
- A parent nearby for the first few classes, even if you cannot read Arabic.
How do you fit classes into your day and time zone?
Classes are held at a time that suits your family, whether you live in the UK, USA, Canada, Australia, Europe, the UAE, Saudi Arabia, South Korea, Qatar, Malaysia or Singapore, or in Bangladesh. Tell us the hours when your child is fresh, such as before school, after school or at the weekend, and we will arrange it, subject to teacher availability. Read our post on how many days a week to study to choose a schedule.
What happens in the class itself?
The teacher meets your child live, listens to the reading, corrects mistakes and gives the next lesson. Teachers send a daily report on each student, and guardians receive a monthly progress report. Every class is monitored. You can meet a male or female teacher: tell us your preference when you book.
What does it cost?
The fee is 5,000 BDT a month, about 41 USD, for any course and for 3, 4 or 5 days a week. Each class is 1 hour. You do not need to buy any special equipment. Read our pricing guide for diaspora parents for a comparison.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can my child learn the Quran on a phone?
Yes. A phone works if you have nothing else, but a laptop or tablet gives a clearer view of the page.
Do I need to install special software?
No. Classes use Google Meet, which is free and works in a browser or an app.
What if my internet drops during class?
Reconnect with the same link. Keep mobile data ready as a backup, and tell us if it happens often.
Can a parent sit with my child?
Yes. For younger children it helps, at least at the start.
Do I need to buy a Quran or Qaida first?
If your child already has one, use it. If not, the teacher will guide you. You can also see our books page.
Can we test everything in the free trial?
Yes. The free trial class lasts up to 1 hour. You and your child can check your device, your internet and the teacher before you decide.
