Online Quran Class Timings for UK, USA, Canada, Australia and Europe: A Time Zone Guide for Bangladeshi Families

Online Quran class timings are arranged around your family's time zone, not ours. Learn Al Quran Online BD is based in Bangladesh (UTC+6), and we teach live, one-to-one classes at a time that suits students in the UK, USA, Canada, Australia, Europe, the Gulf and Asia. Classes run 3, 4 or 5 days a week for 1 hour each, for 5,000 BDT a month, whichever time you choose.

This guide shows the time difference between Bangladesh and each region, explains why the gap changes during the year, and shows how to think about picking a class time.

Why the Time Difference Changes During the Year

Bangladesh does not change its clocks, so it stays on UTC+6 all year. Many countries abroad do change theirs:

  • The UK and most of Europe move their clocks forward on the last Sunday of March and back on the last Sunday of October.
  • The USA and Canada move forward in March and back on the first Sunday of November.
  • Southern Australia (including Sydney and Melbourne) moves forward on the first Sunday of October and back on the first Sunday of April. Queensland and Western Australia do not change their clocks.
  • The Gulf, South Korea, Malaysia and Singapore do not change their clocks.

Because of this, the gap between your city and Dhaka can be an hour larger or smaller at different times of year, and the class time on your clock may shift by an hour even though the time in Dhaka stays the same. We keep track of this when we schedule your classes, so you can tell us your time and we will confirm it.

Summer time begins at different dates in each country, so the difference for the UK, Europe, USA and Canada is an hour smaller when their clocks are forward. Always check the current difference on the day your classes begin.

What This Means for Your Family

The time difference is wider for some regions than others, so the best class slot looks different depending on where you live:

  • UK and Europe (4 to 6 hours behind Dhaka). The gap is moderate, so after-school and early-evening class times are usually possible.
  • USA and Canada (10 to 14 hours behind Dhaka). The gap is large, so families usually look at early morning or the morning of the weekend in their time zone. The same hour of the day in Dhaka then falls in the afternoon or evening.
  • Australia (2 to 5 hours ahead of Dhaka). Australia is ahead of Bangladesh, so a late-afternoon class in Sydney falls in the afternoon in Dhaka. An earlier Dhaka time, such as 2:00 PM (6:00 PM in Sydney in winter, 7:00 PM in summer), is a good starting point.
  • The Gulf, South Korea, Malaysia and Singapore. The gap is small, 2 to 3 hours in either direction, so most times of day are easy to arrange.

These are starting points, not fixed slots. The final time is agreed with you, and each child's schedule is different.

How We Choose a Class Time

  1. You tell us your city and the days you are free. For example, after school on weekdays, or on the weekend.
  2. We match you with a teacher. You can choose a male or a female teacher.
  3. We confirm the time in your time zone. The class is then repeated on the same days each week.
  4. We adjust when the clocks change. If your country changes its clocks, we confirm that the class time still works for you.

Classes can be arranged for 3, 4 or 5 days a week, and the fee is the same whichever you choose.

Class Timings by Country

We have written a guide for each country with the local details:

  • Families in the UK, USA, Canada and Australia can find dedicated guides in our blog.
  • Families in Saudi Arabia, South Korea, Malaysia and Singapore can read our country guides to see local timing and student reviews.
